The World’s highest road is the Karakoram Highway in the North of Pakistan.
Did you know that Pakistan is home to the world’s highest paved road.
Also called the eighth wonder of the world, the Karakoram Highway is the highest road ever built.
It runs for 800 miles from Abbottabad in Pakistan to Kashgar in Xinjiang, West China.
The highest point of the road lies is the Khunjerab Pass at 4800 meters.
Where is the Karakoram Highway?
The Karakoram Highway stretches through North Pakistan.
It is a 1,300 km (810 miles) national highway which extends from Hasan Abdal in the Punjab province of Pakistan to the Khunjerab Pass in Gilgit-Baltistan,
It then crosses into China to become China National Highway 314 (a slightly less fun name) and connects onto the city of Kashgar.
